Dr. Fajar J. Ekaputra (M) is a postdoctoral researcher with a PhD on the topic of Semantic Web Technologies for data integration and knowledge change management. He co-authored more than 25 scientific publications out of which 2 won best paper awards. Dr. Ekaputra, has a vast project experience from several research projects on the topic of Semantic Web and its application in several domains, including Industrie 4.0, Smart Cities, and Personal Data management. Therefore, he is optimally positioned to lead this project.
Tomasz (Dr. techn.) is a senior researcher and an expert in data management and design of research data repositories. His areas of expertise include also reproducibility of computational workflows, auditability and digital preservation. In 2011, he received his MSc in systems and computer networks from the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Poland. In 2016, he received his PhD in computer science from the TU Wien for his work on verification and validation of scientific workflow re-executions.
He was involved in numerous international projects: preservation of business processes in the project EU FP7 TIMBUS project; design of Open Access Repositories in the Erasmus+ ROMOR project; design of common interfaces for earth observation data centres within the EU Horizon2020 OpenEO project; as well as in the e-Infrastructures Austria project to implement data management services at Austrian universities. Currently, he is a principal investigator in industrial projects that work on provenance, auditability and trust of computational processes: FFG WellFort and FFG Obaris.
Dr. Marta Sabou (F), is a Senior Post-doctoral researcher with the focus on Semantic Web, Linked Data, and Human Computation and Crowdsourcing (HC&C). Recently, she investigated data integration approaches for the engineering of Industrie4.0 specific cyber-physical production systems, about which a Springer book was published in 2016. She is an accomplished academic (h-index=42) and has an extensive project work and management experience. She will lead WP3.
Laura Waltersdorfer (F) is a PhD student researching Auditable Semantic AI Systems in the medical science and environmental context. She has gained research experience in information systems and data integration approaches in industrial informatics, including quality assurance and process analysis.
Barbara Magagna (F) is a landscape ecologist and geo-information scientist with 25 years of experience working in the field of GIS, landscape ecology modelling and database management for projects operating at different scales. Her interests and formation moved in the last 15 years also towards ontology engineering and process facilitation. She had been working for the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, the University of Vienna and since December 2007 for the Federal Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt GmbH) where she undertakes the function of a semantic analyst and database designer. She was involved in the development process of terminologies like SERONTO and EnvThes. She has experience as work package lead related to data management, in the design of UML models and XML schemas in the air quality data reporting area, in the design of semantic models in projects related to Environmental Research Infrastructures (ENVRI). She is now co-chairing the RDA Working Group I-ADOPT which aims at producing an interoperability framework for the semantic representation of observable properties, which is also the topic of her PhD at the University of Twente (NL).
Oliver Gabriel (M), PhD in natural sciences from Humboldt University zu Berlin with a focus on hydrology. He is a senior expert on diffuse pollution and emission modelling in the group of water protection and waste water treatment at the surface water unit. He has twenty years research and project management experience in the field of surface water modelling and data management on European and national scale. He is the domain expert for UC2 in this project.
Robert Kindermann (M) is a MSc in Computer Science with over 30 years’ experience in different roles of software development. He worked for telecommunication, media and since 2009 for e-government as chief technology officer for the Austrian e-government solution EDM – an e-government system for environmental data spanning twenty applications. He is the UC1 domain expert.
Minu Ayromlou (F), holds a PhD in Computer Science and started her professional career as a researcher in computer vision and robotics. Since more than 15 years, she has changed to the environmental field and works as a senior IT business analyst at the Austrian Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt GmbH). The focus of her expertise is the application of requirements engineering and business analysis methods. She is one of the developing pioneers of EDM, the Austrian e-government solution for environmental data and has introduced her knowledge also in several international projects. She is the UC1 domain expert.
Thomas Thurner (M) started his career at Schlumberger Industries' R&D- Department as developing engineer for energy consumption meters. In parallel he began his studies at the University of Vienna for Communication Science and was thereafter one of the founding partners of Vienna’s first community radio. Beginning of 2002 Thomas and some colleagues launched the SpinOut-Company "Team Teichenberg" active in the fields of audio exchange, streaming, eLearning and podcasting. Between 2006 to 2008 he was in charge of a two years project on setting up an innovation hub on behalf of Telekom Austria. Since early 2008 Thomas is Project Manager at Semantic Web Company.
Anna Breit (F), holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Vienna as well as a Master’s Degree (Dipl.Ing) in Neuroinformatics from the Medical University of Vienna. Her research mainly concerns knowledge graphs and natural language processing with a special focus on embeddings. Furthermore, she targets questions regarding evaluation-metrics and -strategies in machine learning.
Sotirios Karampatakis (M),is a Developer and Data Analyst. Since 2019 he works as a Researcher for the Semantic Web Company. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics, University of Crete and M.Sc. Web Science, School of Mathematics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is creator and maintainer of many datasets of the Greek LOD cloud (Greek libraries bibliographic and authority records, Greek WordNet), current administrator and maintainer of the Greek DBpedia, a contributor in Wikipedia and Wikidata, contributor in open-source projects and active member of the Europeana Network Association, the DBpedia Association and Open Knowledge Foundation Greece. His area of research includes Semantic Web, Ontology Alignment, NLP, Knowledge Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Visualization, SSNs, IoT.
Andreas Erlacher, MSc (M) studied Computer Science at the TU Wien. He also holds a Certificate of Business Administration of the U. of Washington. He worked for several international enterprises in different countries. Andreas has 30 years’ experience in requirements management, software engineering and business development, being a certified Process Manager (TUEV), Change Practitioner (Prosci ADKAR), Enterprise Architect (TOGAF) and Semantic Knowledge Engineer (SWC).
